Legs Off the Rug
When you got a smaller living room (condo sofa), a smaller budget or prefer to keep all of your furniture off the rug (except for a coffee table in the center), go with a 4' x 6'or 5’ x 8’ rug.
Front Legs On, Back Legs Off
Have all front legs of the furniture on the rug with the back legs off a 5' x 8' or 8’ x 10’ rug.
This connects the various pieces together and creates a better sense of proportion.
All Legs on the Rug
Pull the furniture together and defines your space with a 8' x 10' (condo sectionals) or 9' x 12' (sectionals or extra wide sofas).
Table For Four Please
5’ x 8’ rugs are a good choice for smaller sized dining tables with 4 chairs.
Round or Square Table Seating Four to Six
Rectangular rugs work under round or square tables but, a 7’ to 8’ round rug is a better match
Table for Six to Eight
8’ x 10 or 9’ x 12’ rug will work under such a table fit for a feast
Since twin beds are small, take the bed’s positioning and overall size of the room into consideration.
2' x 3' to 4' x 6' by the side of the bed would be a nice start.
And if you have two twin beds in the same room, a 9’ x 12’ works wonderfully to pull the look together.
Laying a 5' x 8' rug horizontally under the bed is your option here.
You may also have some of the floor exposed on the top for your nightstands.
Let your room size and personal preference dictate just how much rug you want showing at the foot of the bed.
Both an 8’ x 10’ and 9’ x 12’ will work for Queens. The larger rug also has the effect of making your room appear bigger.
A king size bed calls for at least an 8’ x 10’ and usually a 9’ x 12’. Anything smaller will appear out of proportion.
1 - 3 MONTHS TO CRAFT
Creates a relatively lower pile, casual look.
Made by tufting loops of yarn through a stiff woven base, stretched over a frame. The design is printed on the base fabric, and the loops of yarn are pushed through the fabric.
Larger looped rugs create a heavily textured rug while smaller loops allow for greater detail in pattern.
5 MONTHS TO YEARS TO CRAFT
Most prestigious rug construction for its durability, minimal shedding and highest artistic quality. Only hand knotting by the most skilled can labouriously accomplish the most intricate design details and complex colour variations.
An expert weaver sits behind a loom and hand ties individual knots of cotton, wool or silk yarns onto the vertical strings seen on the backside of a rug.
The most rarefied are sold for millions at elite auction house and by finest purveyors. Ours are comparatively much more attainable.
