In Aesop’s fable "The Pig the Sheep and the Goat", the message is not to compare another’s troubles to your own. A sheep and a goat see a pig handled by a shepherd. The pig resists violently. The sheep and the goat say that they do not protest so much when the shepherd handles them, the pig replies: "The shepherd doesn’t want your bacon!"
